Aluminum arms will not only put stress on components that they are attached to, arms will bend, and stay bent. You want those two components to take abuse and flex. When searching for the aluminum "bling" factor the one thing (two things) I'd shy away from.suspension arms, body mounts. In some places it's too flexible, but there is always an upgrade. Traxxas, in general, has great durable RCs because of their plastic composition. Flexibility is a key factor in RC off-road parts. I know different colored anodized aluminum parts are great to look at, and sets off your ride (make it stand out) from the normal stock platform, but there are times I think aluminum parts should not be introduced to a platform. I am not yet looking for performance upgrades, but simply would like to have some upgrades he could bolt on straight out of the box to show him the joy of personalising his own rig. For example, which front bumper would be best. Please suggest upgrades that would help it to be more fun, but especially more durable, so as to not end a day of running too soon with a break down. My son's first real RC, a Traxxas 2WD Slash is en route and will arrive within the week. I have seen folks run into problems getting warranty support from RPM, and while I agree that RPM is far better than Traxxas, I feel that anything T-Bone Racing offers is better than RPM

If I were to upgrade the front bumper, then I would go with T-Bone Racing because they offer a true lifetime warranty with no questions asked: there is no known upgrade to protect Slash's from bending shock shafts, here is a typical bend that is fairly common: and yeah, the TiNi shafts are nice to have for spares, but they aren't going to add any durability, they will only make the shocks a little smoother. I agree that the GTR shocks are complete overkill, the aluminum caps are all you really need. Not sure if PayPal supports Mongolia or not? I make it a point to always use PayPal for all online purchases to guarantee buyer protection. I have bought from many overseas vendors just fine (typically from China) and shipped to the United States on average of between 2-4 weeks.
